Folding Shovel - What to look for when buying

Folding shovels have features that make them more than just a shovel. Some of the features that make folding shovels a more versatile tool are:
1. Folds into a usable hammer.
2. Folds into a pick.
3. Bladed edge for cutting and chopping.
4. Double or Tri-folding for compactness.
5. Triangular handle design for easy grip and use.
The more features, the better. With the hammer feature, you can use the shovel to hammer in tent stakes. A tri-folding shovel can be folded into a pouch and easily carried with you when camping or hiking. If you are going to be using the shovel in wet conditions, then shovels made from a rust resistant steel are better.
