Types of Folding Shovels
|
As you can see from the following pictures, folding shovels have different designs.
Basic Double Folding shovel
 
This shovel is a basic folding shovel. Its a great tool for camping, digging ditches, and in emergencies such as shoveling snow. From the side view, you can see there is a steel piece that folds down on the opposite side to use as a hammer. This shovel has a telescoping handle.
Folding Shovel with Pick
This shovel features a spike on the other side of the shovel so you can use it as a pick.
Serrated Tri-Folding Shovel with Triangle Handle
 
This type of folding shovel features a serrated edge, so when swung, it can cut objects. Designed after the E-tool (entrenching tool) issued to green berets, it was a shovel and a weapon. The triangular handle makes it easy to swing and also to hold with two hands. The flat edge can be stepped on for extra force when shoveling. It is a tri-folding shovel and folds compactly into a carrying pouch.
